Sempervirens Fund offers five different ways to create a lasting redwood tribute. Your support of these special tribute programs helps Sempervirens Fund to purchase new redwood parklands in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Planted Trees: Redwood seedlings, not individually identified, can be planted in our redwood parks for just $50. For details see Give a Gift that Grows.
Legacy Grove
Info & Map
The Legacy and Waterfall Groves:   In the cool, cathedral-like redwood forests of our Santa Cruz Mountains, you’ll find three very special places for thought and reflection.  You can honor or remember a friend or loved one with a permanent nameplate in one of these groves.  All three groves are easily accessible and can be visited often.
  • For a contribution of $300 or more to Sempervirens Fund, a nameplate will be added to the Legacy Grove sign in Big Basin Redwoods State Park.
  • For a contribution of $1,000 or more to Sempervirens Fund, a nameplate will be added to the San Lorenzo River Redwoods Legacy Grove sign in Castle Rock State Park.
  • For a contribution of $2,500 or more to Sempervirens Fund, a nameplate will be added to the Gazos Creek Waterfall Grove sign in a magnificent stand of redwoods by this year-round waterfall, just a short walk from inland from the Gazos Creek Road.
To let the recipient know of your thoughtful gift, we will send a beautiful acknowledgement card, a color photograph, and a map to the grove site.
Dedicated Redwoods: Standing straight and tall, majestic coast redwood trees can be dedicated as living memorials or gifts. For your contribution of $500 to $10,000 -- and depending on the age, size, location and availability of the tree -- you can dedicate a mature redwood tree in Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Butano State Park, or Castle Rock State Park.

Trees have been dedicated by high school classes, Sunday school classes, nursery schools and other groups. Yet trees are most often dedicated by individuals.

You may ask us to select a tree on your behalf. Or, when you make a contribution of $1,000 or more for a Dedicated Redwood, you may choose to visit the park and select your special redwood tree with the assistance of our field representative. The gift recipient(s) you designate will receive an attractive acknowledgement card and a color photograph. [SEE CARD]

To help you become familiar with the location of your dedicated tree, a small identifying tag will be placed at its base. Your redwood will be dedicated only by you, and will be registered with Sempervirens Fund in perpetuity.
Dedicated Groves: A majestic grove of coast redwood trees makes a lasting tribute in memory of a loved one or in celebration of a special occasion. With a gift of at least $25,000 -- and depending on the age, size, location and availability of groves -- you may dedicate a grove of mature redwood trees in Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Butano State Park, or Castle Rock State Park.

From the majestic redwoods in Big Basin and Butano State Parks to the peaceful forest lands of Castle Rock, a dedicated grove is a lasting tribute to your generosity and commitment to the preservation of our wilderness parks.

We encourage grove donors to visit the park with us to select just the right place to honor and remember family and friends. Each dedicated grove is celebrated with a handsome wooden sign bearing the recipient's name. Private organizations and service clubs may also dedicate groves.

The dedication of a redwood grove is a timeless way to ensure that future generations will inherit our legacy of healthy forest parkland. For more information, please contact Jeanne Friedman.
