Recovery Funds for Santa Cruz Redwood Forests
August Lightning Complex Fire
Our communities throughout San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties have experienced the worst wildfire in the region in recorded history. Fire devastated the landscape, homes were lost, our neighbors were displaced, wildlife were on the run, and forests are left scorched and burnt over. Our air was choked with smoke and ash. And many of the region’s parks, including the iconic Big Basin Redwoods State Park, have been significantly impacted by these wildfires.
Work must begin immediately to recover from the devastation of the wildfires, at Big Basin and throughout the region. You can help.
We have created two funds to help. We created the Santa Cruz Redwoods Restoration Fund to restore redwoods throughout the Santa Cruz mountains affected by the wildfires And we created the Big Basin Recovery Fund and invited Save the Redwoods League to join us in raising funds to support the immediate needs facing the park.

Our ties to the Santa Cruz Mountains stretch back 120 years. Our hearts are breaking for the people in our community being evacuated, losing their homes, and trying to survive these fires. Recovery funds can be found through the Community Foundation Santa Cruz County and Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
