The five land conservation organizations listed in the top row, working in consultation with a local Citizens Campaign Committee, are leading the campaign. These land trusts work collaboratively as part of the Living Landscape Initiative (LLI) to create and maintain a vibrant, sustainable living landscape in the heart of coastal California, with support from the Bay Area Conservation Initiative of Resources Legacy Fund, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. The Citizens Campaign Committee includes local citizens who are actively engaging in the effort to establish the new monument.
Together these partners are reaching out to elected officials, federal agencies and the White House to make sure that the voices of Santa Cruz County are heard and that Coast Dairies’ tremendous natural and cultural resources are recognized as nationally significant and worthy of the federal government’s utmost care.
Grants from the Conservation Lands Foundation and Resources Legacy Fund are providing critical financial support for the campaign.
