Land and Water Conservation Fund is Forever!

Thanks to your calls and letters to legislators, the President today made it official: we have achieved permanent and full funding of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).

The bill, the Great American Outdoors Act, delivers permanent, dedicated, annual funding of $900 million for LWCF and up to $9.5 billion annually over the next five years to address the urgent and deferred maintenance needs on federal lands, parks, and forests.

Historic Moment for the Land and Water Conservation Fund

Thanks to your calls to legislators, we are one step away from permanent and full funding of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). Yesterday the House of Representatives passed the Great American Outdoors Act by a significant majority.

The President announced his intent to sign the bill, and we look forward to celebrating this historic achievement with you. This bill would deliver permanent, dedicated, annual funding of $900 million for LWCF and up to $9.5 million annually over the next five years to address the urgent and deferred maintenance needs on federal lands, parks, and forests.

Sempervirens Fund Takes Ownership of Gazos Creek

November 15, 2019

Friday, November 15, 2019. Sempervirens Fund announced today that it has taken formal ownership of the 320-acre Gazos Creek property, protected in March of this year in a larger deal with Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) and Big Creek Lumber. The property contains a large, second-growth forest that includes scattered old-growth trees and is directly adjacent to Butano State Park. It is considered critical habitat for the conservation of the endangered marbled murrelet.
